BUG

TO THE

FUTURE

Master Course Project 2019

Design Future Society

Fresh on the table: hearty noodles made from insect flour and crispy snacks from roasted crickets. Sounds disgusting? That's rooted in Western society. We consume 50 million tons of livestock products a year and thus endanger our habitat. Yet insects are a normal part of the diet for 2 billion people in the world. They are rich in protein and can be kept in large numbers according to their natural habitat. The German Students' Association wants to overcome prejudices and disgust with its Future Gourmet Program "Bug to the future" and challenges students in the series of experiments to taste the food of the future. In this way, the Studierendenwerk is making an important contribution to the necessary search for a Plan B.
